Carter and Rhya Rocks

This project is dedicated to the memories of Carter Marohn-Johnson (2002-2019) and Rhya Marohn (1975-2020).

Rhya loved discovering painted rocks whenever she was out for a run or otherwise out and about. While Carter made fun of her for this, if he ever stumbled upon one, he would save it and give it to Rhya. When Carter died in 2019, his family handed out more than 500 rocks decorated and dedicated to him and his memory. "Carter Rocks" continue to be created as a way for family and friends to carry Carter with them to special places all over the world.

Now, we have created "Rhya Rocks" that are being shared with friends and family. We hope the Rhya Rocks will join the thousands of Carter Rocks that have and will continue to be shared and found in Charles County, Maryland, and around the world.

Whether you click here to request a rock or you create your own, please help us continue to remember and honor these two beautiful people.
